A downloadable A Minute Outside for Windows

Platform: Windows Release: TBS Development Status: Prototype

A Minute Outside is a work-in-progress top-down 2D sci-fi survival shooter set on a post-apocalyptic Earth ravaged by nuclear war and plagued by radioactive mutants. You operate as a silent agent of the mysterious Dominus organization, remotely guiding a squad of elite Survivors on the ground. Your mission? Survive the wastelands, known as the Eremus, to prevent a mysterious imminent catastrophe known to be a final climatic cataclysm that would render the planet utterly uninhabitable.

The task won’t be as easy as it might sound, as the Survivors only have limited time to explore the ruins in the Eremus and find valuable items and new weapons while resisting the endless waves of radioactive mutants. Use your Shelter strategically to power up and join again the frenetic fight for survival with upgraded equipment and weapons.

Brace yourself for a relentless war to save what’s left of humanity; or to shape its future under a brand-new order. The clock is ticking. Are you ready to decide Earth’s fate?

About the development: A Minute Outside is a jam project originally designed in 2021. The game won as the Best Game and Best Design and its creators fell in love with the simple but frenetic concept. While their professional careers diverged and made the further development of the concept impossible, their love for the game never vanished. After three years, in 2024, Gianmarco started working again on the project with the supervision of Andrea and Simone using it as the foundation of his master's thesis and polishing the project to finally showcase the game publicly at the Tomorrow Awesome Games Showcase of the Copenhagen Games Week 2025. The present-day version only includes some prototyped features without narrative components of a more complex design with original sci-fi lore that might see further expansion and development in the future
